The Carnival is divided into three handicap Grades for men and three for women. A Grade men and women will play Stroke, all other Grades will play Stableford. Each Carnival player will be allocated to a grade and will remain in that grade for the period of the Carnival.
Your Handicap may change each day, on some days you may even be playing in a different grade, however your Carnival grade will not change and your score will be recorded against the grade to which you have been allocated.
If you are listed as an A Grade player for the Carnival you must play out all holes and record your Stroke score for all games regardless of the fact that you may play Stableford in some daily games.
The Grades for Carnival players, based on GA Handicaps, are as follows :
- Men A grade: 0 – 13.5
- Men B grade: 13.6 – 18.9
- Men C grade: 19.0 – 38.0
- Women A grade: 0 – 18.0
- Women B grade: 18.1 – 25.0
- Women C grade: 25.1 – 45.0
Each players Grade will be determined by their handicap as at 9am on Thursday 26th August. The final Grade breakdown will be confirmed after the Closing Date once entry numbers and handicaps are known.
Addendum to Carnival Grades for 2021.
Dear Carnival Player,
The WBSC will be divided into three handicap Grades for men and three for ladies, determined by the GA handicaps at 9am on Thursday 26th August. Players will retain that grade for the duration of the Carnival. “A” Grade men and ladies will play Stroke. All other Grades will play Stableford.
Daily playing handicaps will be used for each event. Since daily handicaps vary with the CCR, players may find that their daily grade differs from their WBSC Grade. This will not affect their WBSC outcome as their score will be recorded against their WBSC Grade which remains the same throughout the tournament.
A GRADE PLAYERS THEREFORE MUST PLAY OUT EVERY HOLE AND RECORD BOTH THEIR GROSS AND NETT SCORES EVEN IF PLAYING STABLEFORD IN A DAILY COMPETITION.
Please note this is an extract from the Conditions and Rules of play of the Wide Bay Spring Carnival.
